The City of Detmold is looking for the following to join the Technical Building Supervision team in Department 6 - Urban Development as soon as possible

a clerk (f/m/d) in the field of building regulations and building planning law

The City of Detmold's technical building supervision department is responsible for a wide range of tasks relating to the implementation of current building regulations. The Technical Building Inspection team consists of 12 employees and supports citizens and Detmold businesses in particular with their building concerns. Become part of our team and support us in the inspection and implementation of public building regulations in Detmold.

Your main tasks are

• Final processing of building supervisory tasks, applications and inquiries (including necessary negotiations with applicants, architects, authorities, etc.) of fundamental and special importance
• Processing of other building regulation matters
• Planning law information regarding the usability and buildability of properties
• Advice on planning law for developers, drafters and interested parties
• Opinions on applications for exceptions and exemptions (from urban development and planning regulations)

You bring with you

• Completed studies (Bachelor/Dipl.-Ing.) in the fields of civil engineering or architecture
• Proven many years of relevant professional experience in the above-mentioned areas
• Very good knowledge of public building law, in particular BauO NRW and BauGB as well as environmental law and road laws, in building construction and civil engineering and in dealing with municipal statutes
• Willingness and ability to attend on-site appointments, even in difficult terrain and on construction sites
• Results and customer-oriented approach, strong ability to cooperate and coordinate
• Goal-oriented and customer-oriented work with a high degree of initiative, commitment, team spirit and communication skills
• Negotiation skills
• Confident written and oral communication skills for citizen-oriented and legally compliant communication (corresponding to at least language level C1)
• IT skills (MS Office applications and digital IT applications in the construction sector)

Desirable are

• Special or in-depth specialist knowledge in the field of fire protection and recurring inspections
