The Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA) is the federal government's real estate company, which supports the real estate policy goals of the federal government and provides the necessary land and buildings for almost all federal authorities. As a comprehensive environmental service provider, our Federal Forestry Division looks after forest, open land and water areas with unique natural features from the coast to the Alps. In the federal forestry operations, we also ensure that the requirements of military use are reconciled with the interests of sustainable and environmentally compatible terrain management or that the areas of the National Natural Heritage are developed in accordance with the respective nature conservation objectives.

What are your main responsibilities?
- Management of the operational area (BB) 2 - forest districts Neustadt, Eichberg, Haide, Brand, Skerbersdorf, Pechern, Daubitz, Slamen & Niederlausitz
- Management of personnel and resource deployment in the BB on the basis of business and personnel management concepts
- Strategic orientation of the BB with regard to the overall economic result of the federal forestry operation and responsibility for target achievement
- Implementation of change and optimization processes, in particular optimization of work processes within the BB and the subordinate forest districts
- Managing hunting operations and developing and implementing hunting strategies
- Conducting negotiations with contractual partners and other third parties
- Communicating with customers, authorities, associations and other public bodies
- Preparing forestry opinions, including the detailed presentation and justification of the results
- Management of occupational health and safety at BB
- Technical support for scientific work and projects
- Determination of key figures and benchmarks on the basis of market analyses
Our work is mobile and flexible. Nevertheless, the post/workplace occasionally involves business trips, including throughout Germany. These business trips are always planned well in advance to ensure a good work-life balance.
What do we expect?
Qualifications:
- Completed scientific university degree (university/master's degree) in forestry or forest science or comparable qualification
Professional skills:
- Two years of relevant professional experience at the time of recruitment
- Knowledge and experience in forestry site management and in the management of forestry and service operations
- Knowledge of economic planning, forest inventories/mapping
- Knowledge of functional silviculture
- Knowledge of (user-specific) spatial planning, in particular urban land-use planning, landscape planning, BB planning
- Knowledge of legal norms relevant to forestry (BWaldG, BNatSchG, FFH, hunting laws, etc.) as well as the relevant working principles, including regulations on NATURA 2000 management, forest certification systems and accident prevention regulations
- Basic knowledge of GIS
