The Berlin Directorate is looking for a Construction Manager (f/m/d) for the Facility Management New Buildings (FN) division in Berlin for the management of official properties of the supreme federal authorities with immediate effect or as soon as possible:

The position is open-ended.

The Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA) is the federal government's real estate service provider, which supports the real estate policy objectives of the federal government and provides the necessary land and buildings for almost all federal authorities. Accordingly, we are represented throughout Germany with over 7,000 employees and take care of a very broad and diverse real estate portfolio as well as the ecological use and maintenance of natural areas of the federal government. For these varied and responsible tasks, we are looking for innovative minds who think and act sustainably.

Our Facility Management division builds, operates and manages a complex portfolio with exciting and diverse properties - from the ministries in Berlin and Bonn, federal courts and research facilities to the buildings of customs, the Federal Police, the Federal Armed Forces and the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW). In dialog with our customers, we are shaping the path to climate-neutral real estate management.

What are your main areas of responsibility?

  • Project management and project leadership, in particular for difficult, complex construction projects at the highest federal authorities, for projects with and without the involvement of the building authorities
  • Representing the interests of the owner/building owner function
  • Construction in existing buildings during ongoing operations, taking into account monument preservation requirements
  • providing construction-related guidance to the employees of the property management team (OMT)
  • Representing the OMT management in their absence

What do we expect?

Qualifications:

  • completed civil engineering (technical) university education (Diplom-Ing. [FH]/Bachelor) in the fields of architecture, civil engineering or comparable courses of study or equivalent knowledge and many years of experience at engineering level

Professional skills:

  • comprehensive specialist knowledge and many years of practical experience in the management/project management of construction projects and measures, including business management knowledge
  • Knowledge of relevant construction, planning and public procurement law, technical regulations
  • many years of experience in the administration and structural maintenance of large properties
  • Experience in personnel management
  • IT user knowledge for Microsoft Office
  • User knowledge of SAP and CAFM is desirable

  • Ability to work independently and in a team, critical and interpersonal skills
  • thorough and careful way of working, high level of reliability
  • Ability to familiarize yourself with changing areas of responsibility
  • quick and good comprehension skills; good organizational skills, ability to think and act economically

  • Ability to work in a structured and timely manner even with a high workload
  • convincing communication and moderation skills as well as the ability to express yourself verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to undergo an extended security check in accordance with § 9 SÜG (Security Check Act)
