Our client, Aachener Siedlungs- & Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH (ASW), was founded in 1949 and, with approximately 26,000 residential units in North Rhine-Westphalia, Berlin, and Trier (rental and property development operations), operating subsidiaries, and approximately 400 employees, one of the largest professional housing companies in Germany with a group of church-affiliated shareholders. Its range of services is comprehensive, encompassing property portfolio management, leasing, new construction, renovation, and modernization projects, as well as representing the interests of shareholders on the ground and undertaking special assignments. The company’s mission is the sustainable development and management of affordable housing for all social classes and people in various life situations. The mission of social responsibility is rooted in Christian-social values with a clear focus on sustainability as well as current topics such as digitalization, AI, and ESG.
Due to a succession plan, we are seeking you as
Managing Director (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive responsibility for overall strategy, financial performance, and human resources as part of a two-person executive team
- Responsible for the construction operations (land development, planning, new construction, and large-scale renovations) as well as strategic portfolio management
- Ensuring sustainable business development, as well as the strategic direction, leadership, and further development of the company, while taking into account social and societal responsibilities, including ESG requirements
- Further development of ASW and its subsidiaries as a customer-oriented housing company, a service provider for church institutions, an attractive employer, a reliable contractor, etc.
Your Profile:
- A technical or business degree with a focus on real estate, completed with good grades; alternatively, comparable training
- Extensive leadership experience in a senior position with a focus on construction, strategy, and real estate economics
- Experience working with local government and church structures
- A good fit for the organizational structure, strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, an entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to succeed, ability to work in a team, flexibility, and a willingness to collaborate
- Strong negotiation and implementation skills, as well as a results-oriented approach
